It's a very good day for Ellen DeGeneres. It's an even better day for General Hospital. It's a decent day for Oprah Winfrey and the ladies of The View.

It's a pretty embarrassing day, though, for the eponymous hosts of Live With Regis & Kelly, Rachael Ray, The Bonnie Hunt Show and the Today show team.

Not because they were deprived Daytime Emmy nominations (they weren't)—but because the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in its infinite boob-tube wisdom, didn't think they surpassed the televisual standard of, say, Hot Wheels Battle Force 5.

If you think that's bad, just think how Martha Stewart, Dr. Oz and Tyra Banks must feel.

The nominations for the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards were announced this morning, and General Hospital came out on top, scoring a competition-demolishing 18 nods overall.

Hot on its heels were The Young and the Restless, with 16; Sesame Street, whose nominations were brought to us by the number 14; and As the World Turns and One Life to Live, each of which scored 13.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show led all gabfests, locking down eight nominations, including Outstanding Talk Show but not Talk Show Host because DeGeneres opted to take herself out of the running. It was closely followed by Barbara Walters' henhouse, which earned five, including a hosting nod for the whole View crew.

Oprah's talk steamroller nabbed four (she has long since taken herself out of the host race), while The Bonnie Hunt Show, Live With Regis & Kelly, Rachael Ray and Today each tallied three—the same amount, oh yes, as Hot Wheels Battle Force 5.

Of course, not all nominations are created equal. Ray, Hunt, Oz, Philbin and Ripa are all up for Outstanding Talk Show Host.

Also scoring in today's nominations were Amy Poehler's new 'toon The Mighty B!, which earned the Parks & Rec star a nod for Outstanding Performer in an Animated Program (she's up against awards magnet Philip Seymour Hoffman for Arthur), and perpetual cable fave Cash Cab. Go ahead, now that it's Emmy-nominated, you can admit that you watch it.

Speaking of pleasures guilty or otherwise, our own TV sister, Style, also did us proud today.

The Niecy Nash-hosted Clean House scored a nod for Outstanding Lifestyle Program, as did How Do I Look? They vie against heavyweights The Martha Stewart Show, This Old House and Make.

Meanwhile, the Clean House: Messiest Home in the Country special earned a nod for Outstanding Special Class Special (they must feel, um, pretty special). And inspirational reality star extraordinaire Ruby also earned a nomination for Outstanding Special Class Series. Good luck, you guys!
