Played by: Katherine McNamara Who she is: Clary finds out on her 18th birthday that she is a Shadowhunter (a human-angel hybrid who hunts demons) and finds herself in a whole new world she never knew existed after meeting Jace and her mother is kidnapped. Who to ship her with: Either Jace or Simon.
Played by: Dominic Sherwood Who he is: Shadowhunter who was adopted by the Lightwoods and fights alongside Alec and Isabelle. He introduces Clary to the world of the Shadowhunters, sparks soon fly. Who to ship him with: Clary
Played by: Alberto Rosende Who he is: Clary's nerdy (but very cute) BFF, who is a here human and also in love with her, of course. Who to ship him with: Either Clary or Isabelle.
Played by: Emeraude Toubia Who she is: A rebellious and badass shadowhunter whose signature weapon is a whip. See? Badass. Who to ship her with: Simon
Played by: Matthew Daddario Who he is: One of the very few gay Shadowhunters, he fights alongside his sister Isabelle, and adoptive brother Jace, whom he has feelings for. However, things change once he meets Magnus. Who to ship him with: Magnus or Jace.
Played by: Harry Shum Jr. Who he is: An immortal warlock with a killer wardrobe and love of glitter, Magnus is over 800 years old. He takes an immediate interest in Alec, proving he has eyes that are fully functional. Who to ship him with: Alec. Prepare to hear a lot about "Malec," y'all!
Played by: Isaiah Mustafa Who he is: Straying from the books, in which he's a bookseller, Luke is a detective for the NYPD investigating demonic murders, and has fatherly feelings toward Clary due to his affection for her mother, Jocelyn. Who to ship him with: Jocelyn, Clary's kidnapped mother.
