Anna Kendrick isn't buying into all the royal baby hype.

On Thursday's Late Night With Seth Meyers, the Pitch Perfect 2 star recalled being in the U.K. when Princess Charlotte was born earlier this month, and she was—to say the least—less than impressed with the fan frenzy surrounding the arrival of Kate Middleton and Prince William's second child.

"First of all, I don't know why anybody cares about the royal baby," she said. "Because it's a baby! It hasn't done anything. It hasn't achieved anything. It was just born."

"I get in like 1540 it was exciting when the king had a baby," offered Seth. "But it's not like he's ever going to be the king that matters." (Presumably, they're referring to Charlotte's older brother, Prince George.)

"No, he's not going to do anything," Anna agreed. "And like, so Americans care a little bit, but when I was in England, the city [of London] had gone crazy. There were all these flags up and there were people baking special cakes at lunch to have in celebration of the royal baby, and I was like, 'The baby doesn't know you're doing that! The baby doesn't care!'"

"And the baby was on like a full page of the Daily Mail in the U.K.—the first picture of the baby, [and] it just looks like every baby," she quipped. "All babies look like sacks of potatoes. It just looks like a baby. You could put a picture of any baby, any Caucasian baby, and you'd be like, 'Aw, it looks like a baby!'"

She didn't stop there, asking in mock frustration, "Is it a boy? Is it a girl? Is it a sack of potatoes? I don't know!"

Oh, goodness—someone's not getting an invite for tea at the palace anytime soon! In any case, Pitch Perfect 2 is in theaters now.
