Christopher Polk/Getty Images for VevoIggy Azalea is fighting back after reports surfaced that her ex Maurice Williams, aka Hefe Wine, was seeking to end their common-law marriage.
A previous TMZ story claimed that Wine filed divorce documents, explaining that he and the "Fancy" singer had "agreed to be married, holding themselves out as man and wife and began residing together in the State of Texas on or around September, 2008."
But that's not the case according to Azalea herself. She tweeted, "I think we already all know, but just to clarify. I'm NOT married. Feel free to check the PUBLIC marriage records."
The Aussie native's spokesperson also released the following statement to E! News:
"It's disappointing that this thief, felon and fugitive is continuing to use the media to attack Iggy as part of his desperate and despicable attempt to keep himself in the press.
"Iggy's federal court complaint froze Mr. Williams' ability to trade on her fame by profiting from music he stole from her, so he has resorted to elevating his predatory relationship with a 17 year old girl into a sham 'marriage' claim unsupported by any certificate or evidence."
Early last month, Azalea filed a lawsuit against her ex for infringing copyright and unlawfully promoting yet-to-be released music.
E! News obtained the court documents, which claimed that Williams had used her name, likeness, voice and trademark to promote and distribute her early songs without her consent.
The legal move came shortly after Williams announced that he was planning to release an EP by the "Black Widow" crooner, called Inizio, on Sept. 30.
According to Azalea's filing, she says that the music was stolen off of her computer around 2008 and that her music was never completed nor approved by her for commercial use.
Let it be noted that this is the same man who previously claimed to have a sex tape featuring Azalea in his possession as well.
