Gwyneth Paltrow knows Martha Stewart isn't her biggest fan.

But while speaking at Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit Tuesday evening, the Oscar-winning actress took on the lifestyle expert's recent criticism head-on.

"No one has ever said anything bad about me before, so I'm shocked and devastated," Paltrow joked. "I'll try to recover."

As many fans recall, Stewart had strong words for the Goop founder in the Fall 2014 issue of PORTER magazine.

"She just needs to be quiet—she's a movie star," Stewart told the publication. "If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn't be trying to be Martha Stewart."

Paltrow's response, however, leads us to believe she is almost flattered by the attention.

"If I'm really honest, I'm so psyched that she sees us as competition," she explained. "I really am."

The rivalry between Paltrow and Stewart took another interesting turn earlier this week when former president and CEO of Martha Stewart Living, Lisa Gersh, was hired by Goop to be the lifestyle website's new CEO.

"She's the perfect person to build on the momentum we have already created at Goop, and to diversify our opportunities to bring Goop's positive energy directly to consumers in what they read, what they try, what they buy and how they live," the actress said in a statement.

Drama aside, Paltrow cannot believe how far her business has come.

"When I started it, it really was just for myself and my friends," she admitted. "I didn't foresee the community I was creating. I sometimes look back and say, ‘What the heck, what was I doing?"

When Stewart takes notice, you know you're doing something right!
