Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) came back from the TV grave to Live Another Day on Fox, but is this it for the 24 hero?

"I think if this does well, I can't see any reason not to do another 12," Robert Cochran, 24 co-creator, told E! News at the 24: Live Another Day premiere.

The original 24 ran for nine seasons from 2001-2010 on Fox. After the series ended, there was talk of bringing Jack Bauer back on the big screen. Eventually, those discussions halted and the stars aligned, so to speak, and Jack returned to TV.

"A movie's possible," Cochran said. "I believe the real-time format lends itself to television more than it does to a movie and it's its natural habitat. I'll take whatever happens, but I'd like to see it come back on TV."

Howard Gordon, an executive producer on the series, said Fox didn't cite a number in ratings the return would have to hit. "In the world of 24, it's always good to take it one day at a time," Gordon told us. "So we've had a good time doing this…assuming the audience embraces it and continues to embrace it, then we ask ourselves the question: Do we have another story to tell? Another day?"

Both Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub admitted to having some nerves when it came to reprising their now-famous roles of Jack Bauer and Chloe O'Brian, respectively. As for doing it again? "We'll see," Rajskub said.

"I think that people are really excited about it and from our side, the internal side of it, they're really excited about how it turned out," she said. "The scripts have been really good, so I can't imagine that there wouldn't be a little bit more now that they've gone through the trouble of bringing it back."
