Bethenny Getting Married: Bridezilla...or Boring?

The other Housewives are mostly MIA from the Skinnygirl spinoff, so where is the drama?

When there's drama on The Real Housewives of New York City, there's usually Bethenny. Now, Bethenny Frankel has her own spinoff show, premiering tonight, Bethenny Getting Married. The other Housewives are, for the most part, MIA...but so is the dramz.

We spoke with the Skinnygirl herself last week about her new show, her new life and her relationship with the other Housewives. Here's what she had to say...

First off, if you are on Team Bethenny, you'd best tune in to her show, because she won't be rejoining the Real Housewives of New York City cast. "It's not my life anymore," she said. "It's not a cliché when I say I don't believe in staying at a party too long." Maybe she'd appear, she said, "If I had a lesser role, and dipped in and dipped out [like] a Greek chorus" with "running commentary." For now, Bethenny insists, "This is a time I really want people who are good for me, good for my family. I want clean energy and everyone to be happy."

Apparently, one of those "good" people is her therapist, who has agreed to let their sessions be filmed for the show. When we asked Bethenny whether she was apprehensive about inviting viewers into this personal space, she said: "It's actually my idea. I need therapy [but normally] I don't have time to go. To be able to have therapy once a week [for the show], I run there. I don't even notice the cameras. It's a true depiction of my life, [and] I've learned a lot...It's not a bad thing to lock the door before you get robbed, to go to therapy before you have a breakdown."

Like Kelly Bensimon? "She's out of her mind and certifiable," Bethenny said about her No. 1 nonfan. "The C-section was less painful to me than [vacationing in St. John's] with Kelly"—who, as Bethenny told our Party Girl, has never apologized for calling Bethenny a "ho-bag."

Another Housewife Bethenny name-caller is New Jersey's Teresa Guidice, who posted a twitter rant last week (she's since removed her tweets) calling Bethenny a "bitch," "fake and dangerous," and "misleading real, hardworking women" by posing for a magazine in a swimsuit to show off her postbaby Skinnygirl bod.

But Bethenny doesn't have time for catfights in her new show—she's too busy planning a wedding in the midst of her first pregnancy. Bethenny Getting Married features plenty of conflict—but they're mostly civilized quarrels with her camera-shy fiancée, Jason "2.0" Hoppy, or emotional breakthroughs with her camera-friendly therapist.

Maybe the show's pace will pick up as we get closer to the big wedding. "I sweat the small stuff," said the type-A+ reality star. "I could have a C-section and not be on any pain medication, but if you give me too small a portion at the ice cream store I have a nervous breakdown. That's the kind of person I am."

Bridezilla Bethenny? That's worth tuning in for.
