After much anticipation, the first trailer for Angelina Jolie's upcoming action flick, Salt, has been released and, well, we can't understand a damn thing anybody's saying.

Apparently the good folks over at Columbia Pictures thought it would be a good idea to have the first look at the movie be a Russian-dubbed version, perhaps as a way to play up the whole "Is Angie's CIA officer really a Russian sleeper spy?" angle.

Then again, hearing the actress speaking in a foreign accent is a bit sexy and, let's face it, we don't exactly watch these kinds of movies for the stellar dialogue.

When it's all said and done, we just wanna see stuff blow up. And you certainly don't need a translator for that.

It's all about the dagger, see?

In The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Jake Gyllenhaal must team up with a beautiful princess to battle an evil dude who has unleashed the sands of time, and the only way to do it is to use a dagger that can control time.

There's more, but pretty much all anyone cares about is whether a long-locked Jake looks good with his shirt off (he does!) and whether the rousing CG-enhanced adventures look like good fun (not sure!). People yell, things crash and Jake and his costar bicker and banter before (we imagine) falling in love.

Based on a venerable video game, the trailer makes the film seems a little bit The Mummy, a little bit Raiders of the Lost Ark and a little bit The Bourne Identity, which should be a good thing. Based on this one trailer, though, we aren't convinced.

Government conspiracies. Shadowy figures. Scary refrigerators.

Jeez, Mel Gibson can't even trust his appliances in Edge of Darkness, a thriller about a veteran cop whose daughter is gunned down on his own doorstep. And as a grief-stricken Mel investigates the growing mystery, he finds a plot thicker than his own Boston accent.

From the director of Casino Royale, the screenwriter of The Departed and a solid cast including Gibson and the always enjoyable Ray Winstone, this has the potential to be a wicked awesome film.

Or does it?

Get out your hankies, because weepy season is about to begin. The author of the Notebook is back with more sadly uplifting romantic crack cocaine. We're hooked! Even the music in this preview will have you sniffling back a tear. Plus, this may be the best-looking trailer of all time, thanks to the big-eyed gorgeousness that is Amanda Seyfried and the handsome G.I. Joe hunk-itude of one-time stripper Channing Tatum.

We're ready to see this now, rather than wait until just before Valentine's Day for a cathartic cry. But what say you? Does this look like a dried up package of tear jerky, or the second coming of The Notebook?

One, two, Freddy's coming for you...yet again. Hollywood continues with its latest trend of taking something old and turning it into something new with this "reimagining" of the horror classic about everybody's favorite dream killer.

Taking over for Robert Englund as the burned baddie with a wit as sharp as the blades on his glove is Watchmen and Little Children star Jackie Earle Haley, whose nighttime nuisance seems to get a bit more backstory this time around.

While the updated version is clearly designed to introduce Freddy to a whole new generation, there are plenty of elements taken from the original that may help satisfy fans of the 1984 flick as well. Sadly, Johnny Depp isn't one of them.

Maybe they ought to have called it, This Is What Might Have Been?

Rather, the Michael Jackson documentary shows the late pop star hard at work on the series of London shows that would never take place. Despite all the controversies of his life and death, This Is It, at least the new glimpse of the film seen here of him rehearsing "Human Nature (like the trailer unveiled last week), show the King of Pop still knew how to put on a show.

Too bad it won't happen as planned.

While watching this first look at the upcoming romantic comedy Valentine's Day, we were trying to figure out who isn't in it.

After all, the ensemble cast is quite the laundry list, including the likes of Jennifer Garner, Bradley Cooper, Anne Hathaway, Julia Roberts, Patrick Dempsey, both Jessica Biel and Alba, as well as Ashton Kutcher, who obviously managed to stop twittering long enough to take part.

And while the trailer itself doesn't really reveal much in the way of storyline (it is just a teaser, after all), what little it does show seems mildly amusing and pretty harmless.

The movie hits theaters in February 2010. Just in time for, well, you know.

First the Grinch. Now Scrooge. Clearly Jim Carrey has a thing for less-than-friendly folks who somehow manage to turn that frown upside down right around the holidays. Question is, can he put a smile on our faces with this retelling of the Charles Dickens classic?

That, of course, greatly depends on your feelings toward the motion capture technique that Robert Zemeckis uses here—a device the director utilized in both The Polar Express and Beowulf.

Personally, we think improvements have definitely been made. But the whole attempt to try and get animated characters to look as real as possible still kinda weirds us out.

Thankfully, there's more to recommend the film than that.

Besides Brown, Takers features a dazzling array of hard-working, if not totally A-list, actors we like: Matt Dillon, Paul Walker, Zoe Saldana, Hayden Christensen, Michael Ealy, T.I. and Idris Elba, who's been great in The Wire, The Office and even Obsessed.

Happily, the film ditched its earlier, porn-sounding title, Bone Deep, which makes it easier to see that it has what we like in a movie: precision heists, double-crosses, explosions and lots of guys jumping through stuff while discharging firearms.

OK, we'll wait until we actually see The Men Who Stare at Goats before we make our final decision on its place in film history, but this trailer makes us want to see this movie right now.

George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and—thank you!—Jeff Bridges in full Lebowski-esque glory unite for a based-on-a-true story tale about a secret government project to create psychic soldiers who can kill with their minds—even as some just have trouble walking through walls. 

Although there's probably darker underpinnings to the film, any clip that has Clooney announcing that he's a Jedi warrior to the guy who played Obi-Wan Kenobi is all right by us. Doing it to the strains of Boston's "More Than a Feeling" doesn't hurt, either.
