Maria Sharapova, get on the dance floor. You are wanted for season nine of Dancing With the Stars.

"I want to see those outfits on her," professional dancer Tony Dovolani told us yesterday at the ESPY Awards in downtown L.A. "I want to design every single one. I'm going to approach her about it tonight!"

Last season's disco-ball-winning champ Shawn Johnson echoed Tony's thoughts: "I think Maria Sharapova would be awesome for the show!"

Other superstar athletes had their names dropped for potential recruitment, as well…

Rise 'n' Shine: Heidi Klum & Seal Dissed by Karl Lagerfeld Again!

Seal, Heidi Klum WENN.com

•  We're not quite sure why Karl Lagerfeld hates Heidi Klum so much, but the famed designer has publicly bashed the Victoria's Secret model yet again. Having previously claimed she was too fat for the catwalk, now he says no one in Paris has ever even heard of her, not even Claudia Schiffer. Additionally, the kind soul attacks her husband, Seal, mocking his skin (which has scars leftover from a childhood illness).

•  Even Paris Hilton's accountants thought Doug Reinhardt was a wasted investment.

•  Here's exactly what Jon and Kate Gosselin need: advice from Rev. Run. That should solve all their problems.

•  Looks like John Mayer and Fantasy Factory star Rob Dyrdek had quite the night out, concluding with a hospital visit and a stomach pumping. Yeah, good times.

•  Shame! Mac dude Justin Long still sports a Motorola. He's so old skool!

•  Look at this long enough and you'll understand the real reason Susan Boyle had to skip some performances…

•  Dear Michael Phelps: This is an epic fail. Please make it stop. Love, Rise 'n' Shine

Michael Phelps on Bong Pic: "Awful Judgment," But "We Were Just Celebrating, Honestly"

Matt Lauer, Michael Phelps NBC/Lisa Berg

Michael Phelps must have known, as he waded through the fallout from his too-candid camera moment, that he'd have to dive into a prime-time interview at some point.

In a poolside interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, the 14-time Olympic gold medalist admitted to making a mistake and exercising "awful judgment" by partying among pot smokers last fall—a night out that ultimately cost Phelps his Kellogg sponsorship and earned him a three-month suspension from competitive swimming in the U.S.

"I had no idea really what to do," Phelps said, referring to the moment when he learned that a photograph of him holding a bong surfaced in a British tabloid on Jan. 31.

"I knew that I'd made a mistake and made a bad judgment," Phelps said. "And…I know that when you do make a mistake…you're responsible for all of the consequences. And I was willing to, you know, accept the fact that I did make a mistake."

Although Phelps has publicly apologized for his actions, he has never directly admitted to smoking marijuana.

Kanye West's Chris Brown, Radiohead Rants Redacted by VH1

Kanye West, Bonnaroo Festival Jeff Kravitz/Getty Images

VH1 is busy giving Kanye West a good edit job.

On Feb. 13, the hip-hopper taped an episode of the channel's Storytellers, in which he performs songs and talks about them. Not surprisingly, the outspoken star broached topics that weren't exactly music-related during the three-hour shoot.

"Can't we give Chris [Brown] a break?" he said, contradicting earlier statements he's made about the R&B singer's alleged altercation with girlfriend Rihanna. "I know I make mistakes in life."

Phelps "Glad" He Won't Face Charges Over Pot Pic

Michael Phelps' pot luck finally fell in his favor.

The South Carolina lawman who drew criticism for launching a criminal investigation over the Internet-disseminated photo of the Olympian smoking a bong has announced that he will not pursue charges against Beijing's golden boy.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, who has already arrested eight other coed ne'er-do-wells as a result of his investigation, nevertheless defended his decision to investigate Phelps.

"Ignore it and be criticized or address it and be criticized," he said. "I chose to do what was right.

"Michael Phelps is truly an American sports hero…Even with his star status he is still obligated to obey the laws of our state. He is not immune from his responsibilities to do what is right. He is also human and can make a mistake."

Kids Choose Miley, JoBros, Twilight

Miley Cyrus, AMA 2008 ABC/CRAIG SJODIN

Kids nominate the darnedest things.

Proving that the odd scandal has nothing on blind adoration, the recently scandal-tinged Miley Cyrus and Michael Phelps, not to mention the unwitting feuders Beyoncé and Twilight, have all nabbed nominations for the 22nd Annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.

Cyrus, as expected, leads the pack, scoring three across-the-board individual nods for her work in TV, movies and music, while Beyoncé, Chris Brown and Rihanna scored two nods apiece.

Among the other kid-tested nominees: Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Anne Hathaway, Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Vanessa Hudgens, Alicia Keys, Daughtry, Katy Perry, Peyton Manning and, of course, the Jonas Brothers.

Michael Phelps Smoked by Kellogg Over Pot Use

Michael Phelps Corn Flakes Box Kellogg's

Kellogg likes its flakes frosted, not baked.

A couple days after Michael Phelps admitted to recent marijuana use, the cereal maker says it has dropped the 14-time Olympic gold medalist as a spokesman.

"We originally built the relationship with Michael, as well as the other Olympic athletes, to support our association with the U.S. Olympic team," a rep for the Battle Creek, Mich.-based company said Thursday, and the swimmer's recent behavior is "not consistent with the image of Kellogg."

Their contract with Phelps is set to expire at the end of this month. At press time, the 23-year-old also has a sponsorship deal with Subway, which has declined to comment on its golden boy's slip-up.

"It's times like these where you really do get true support and I've really been able to find out who my friends and family are," Phelps told E! News before the Kellogg announcement. "That was some bad judgment, bad mistakes, and I'm all over it."

Ashton Kutcher has a few words—well, 773 words, to be exact—for his critics.

Even though Kutcher has become the unofficial poster celebrity for Twitter, he decided to take to MySpace for his "brief retort to the critics"—after all, tweets are limited to a mere 140 characters each, and he has plenty to say.

Kutcher addresses many of the recent attacks against him, ranging from his use of Twitter to his support for embattled Olympian Michael Phelps.

Rise 'n' Shine: Bret Michaels Wants to Rock Jen & John's World

Further proof Bret Michaels is not taking his Rock of Love quest for romance seriously: The eyeliner'd one has designs on swooping in on Jennifer Aniston once she and John Mayer officially go kaput, which ought to be soon if he keeps dressing like a lazy MC Hammer.

The South—Atlanta, specifically—hasn't shown much hospitality to Usher's wine bar, The Grape. New York, on the other hand, may soon have double the Southern Hospitality from Justin Timberlake. Very confusing.

• Michael Phelps can breathe easy. It's Miley Cyrus' turn to issue an apology.

Michael Phelps Apologizes for Dopey Move

Michael Phelps ZumaPress.com

The bad news: Michael Phelps has gone and gotten himself involved in a different type of doping scandal. The good news: He's human after all.

The eight gold medal-winning swimming phenom issued a quick apology over the weekend for behavior unbecoming a Wheaties Frosties box coverboy after a photo of him inhaling from what appears to be a marijuana pipe was published in a British tabloid.

"I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment," the Olympian said. "I'm 23 years old and despite the successes I've had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner people have come to expect from me.

"For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public it will not happen again."

Make that, happen again again.

•  Miley Cyrus may have a nice new car, but her man Justin Gaston has a nasty new 'do.

Amanda Beard: Leave Michael Phelps Alone!

Amanda Beard is coming to the defense of fellow Olympian Michael Phelps.

The 14-time gold medalist Phelps has been flooded with some lousy press lately for becoming not only a fixture in Las Vegas, but also for dating Sin City cocktail waitress Caroline "Caz" Pal.

Beard (left, with Phelps at a Speedo party in April) admits it's "definitely weird" to see Phelps becoming a celebrity tabloid star, but she thinks he should be cut some slack...
