Lea Michele is getting close to firming up her New Year's plans.

I can exclusively reveal...

The Glee star is in final talks to make her movie debut in New Year's Eve, the follow-up to Garry Marshall's mega-ensemble hit Valentine's Day. No word yet on Michele's character or storyline, but sources tell me that Marshall wants her big-time.

I'm also told the director's going after Zac Efron—again. The Charlie St. Cloud actor had been approached for Valentine's Day to play the role that eventually went to Taylor Lautner.

Valentine's also included Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Taylor Swift, Queen Latifah, Topher Grace and even Bradley Cooper and Eric Dane as a gay couple. Released in February, the movie has grossed more than $110 million in the U.S.

New Line has yet to officially announce that New Year's Eve has been greenlighted.

Other names that have been bantered about for the new flick include Justin Bieber, Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon.
