At the annual Monte Carlo LAPD Devonshire PALS charity poker tournament game this past weekend, fellow player Kirstie Alley told me she believes rapist Roman Polanksi "won't be brought down." At least not while he's still fleeing his 1977 charges involving 13-year-old Samantha Geimer in L.A.

"What will it take for him to brought to justice?" I asked the very outspoken critic of Hollywood's response.

"For him to be extradited back to this country," she said, evenly. "And it'll never happen. Too many people are on his side."

And that's just for starters...

Alley, 58, has practically made a new career for herself on Twitter and elsewhere by publicly eviscerating the 76-year-old director for raping Geimer and then splitting for Europe, only later to settle a civil case with her, the details of which have never been revealed.

"What do you think of Geimer doing that?" I pressed Alley.

She looked me dead in the eye, bleached blond job cascading down around her face, while she lowered her head and gorgeous eyes (her best feature) almost sheepishly. Alley then slyly rubbed her thumb and index finger together, as if to indicate taking money, smirking with contempt at the same time.

What kind of message do you think Samantha sent to women by settling that case?
You mean to young girls, don't you?

Yes, but, I've spoken with Samantha, and she's being hounded in Hawaii by reporters all over again right now. It's like she's being persecuted all over again. Don't you think that should stop?
[Polanski] needs to own up to what he did.

But he never will?
I don't think so. Too many people are too busy celebrating him!

Any chance you'll do Fat Actress again? Loved you in that!
Maybe. [She didn't seem to hot on the idea, her face was far more animated discussing illusive rapists.]

Well, listen I'm all for getting Polanski back here and getting the charges resolved, and have been hammering that on Twitter. So keep on keeping on, Kirstie.
What's your name on Twitter?

@theawfultruth
OK, I will.

Good thing I didn't say Josh Grossberg, I suppose.
