Hasn't Jessica Simpson been through enough?

Now we hear Joe Simpson, father of Jessica and Ashlee Simpson Wentz, is developing a television comedy for Nickelodeon based on his life raising two daughters, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Prepare to get slimed, ladies.

We kid! We're sure this proposed tween series, a collaboration with comedy vet Tommy Lynch, will be all in good fun.

It's said to be based on the family's life in Texas before they were famous. You know, just your typically awkward, growing up years.

So we're sure there's nothing embarrassing to be mined from that, right?

Maybe Jessica Simpson's relationship with Billy Corgan isn't as serious as we thought. But then again, when you're cooped up in a hospital all day, what's a girl to do? Go on a manhunt, of course!

All of a sudden, spending $65 on a sliver of shiny silver spandex makes sense.

Lindsay Lohan has announced that 100 percent of the proceeds from sales of her 6126-brand "Fame" leggings will go to Save the Children, one of the aid groups working with earthquake victims in Haiti.

"It is truly horrible what has happened to the people and children of Haiti," the actress said in a statement. "I believe every company should do their part by donating what they can."

Jessica Simpson was out at the L.A. premiere of Extraordinary Measures last night (is she besties with Harrison Ford?), where she rocked an unusually subdued outfit.

Typically, Jess is all about big—big blond extensions, big boobs and big Louis Vuitton bags. But here she's toned everything down, even covering up with a turtleneck (shocking!), and we're kinda digging the sexy, sophisticated look.

Leggings as pants should be used sparingly, but we're giving her a pass since the black leggings on black booties have an overall sliming effect. Plus, we love her teased-up 'do and heavy-lined eyes that have that Brigitte Bardot thing going on.

Jessica Simpson often finds herself unlucky in love, but these days, she's declaring herself "blessed."

While tales of a rather unexpected hookup with Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan hit the 'net early last month—complete with photos of the two out and about in New York City—both singers have been mostly mum on the rumored romance.

But now, Tony Romo, Nick Lachey and John Mayer's ex is admitting to teaming up with the "Cherub Rock" singer...at least in the studio.

"I am blessed," she says with a link to one of two photos of the pair. "Going over a song w @billy and the boxer."

Other photo links come with the happy-time feelings of "fun to be lost in laughter."

But the question remains, are they enjoying working together or something a bit more than that?

Even Hollywood's bubbliest stars are weeping over the sudden death of Clueless actress Brittany Murphy.

And, needless to say, they're Twittering those (often misspelled) tears.

The star's ex-boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher, was one of the first to respond about the "little piece of sunshine," later adding, "see you on the other side, kid."

"My deepest condolences go out to all of Brittany Murphy's loved ones & may she rest in peace," Lindsay Lohan says. "She was a great talent w/a beautiful soul. XO."

"Brittany Murphy was an incredible ray of Light to so many people," tweets Jessica Simpson. "My prayers are with her family and loved ones."

You know your friend is wasted when even a little star power won't get her out of jail.

Jessica Simpson's friend and longtime makeup artist, Mary Phillips, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. at the Sunset Tower Hotel for public drunkenness and disturbing the peace, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirms to E! News.

When the 29-year-old stopped by the department to bail out her pal, she was completely rejected (Sorry, Jess, but it's not the first time).

Apparently, when someone is sent to the pokey for hitting the bottle a little too hard, the police won't let them out until they've sobered up. As of 8:30 this morning, that hadn't yet happened.

Earlier in the evening, Jessica Twittered a picture of her "sizzlin' w my peeps," which included Phillips, 30, and the star's ever-present hairstylist, Ken Paves, but not Tiger Woods.

"Look out Yo!!" she wrote.

Look out, indeed.

She's blonde, busty and has a penchant for talking to the media. Yep, Jessica Simpson certainly meets all the criteria for initiation into Tiger Woods' rapidly expanding harem.

But don't let that—or Star's rather shameless attempt to link the singer to the Biggest Scandal of the Year—fool you: Papa Joe didn't raise a hussy.

Simpson's camp is shooting down the tabloid's latest cover claims, alleging that a much-photographed encounter between the stars at the AT&T National Pro-Am golf tournament last July (at which time Simpson was still coupled with Tony Romo, who was both literally and figuratively cropped out of the Star story) resulted in the stars swapping phone numbers and email addresses...and maybe more.

"Tiger liked what he saw and let her know it," a dubious source is quoted in the magazine.

Simpson's rep, however, calls the whole scenario "ridiculous."

"Literally the only thing that's true in the story is the fact that they met," the publicist tells E! News. "It was a quick meeting, and they posed for a photo together—that was it. Jessica's lawyer is sending them a letter this afternoon."

And it won't be wishing them a merry Christmas.

We suppose this is one way to get over those feelings of melancholy and infinite sadness when it comes to trying to find the right man.

It seems Jessica Simpson, whose most recent relationship with quarterback Tony Romo experienced a bit of a fumble earlier this year, is now looking to make beautiful music with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan.

What reportedly started off as a mere crush has turned into something a whole lot more.

"She has fallen hard and is smitten," a source tells E! News of Jessica, adding that both she and 42-year-old Billy consider themselves "officially dating."

Reps for both have yet to return calls for comments, but another source close to Jess says her inner circle is not exactly whistling a happy tune when it comes to this rumored hookup…

Really, who needs a show that's going to evict you after just 12 episodes?

Certainly not Ashlee Simpson-Wentz!

The former inhabitant of Melrose Place moved into her new home on Broadway officially last night, making her debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago at the Ambassador Theater.

Of course, the star's unfamiliar territory was made a bit more cozy given that she performed the role in London's West End. And her star-studded support system in the audience didn't hurt either.

Husband Pete Wentz and sister Jessica Simpson were sitting with papa Joe and mom Tina with figurative bells on.

"I've looked forward to this moment since I watched her own the stage in London," Jessica tweeted. (Obviously, the long-running musical isn't as "crappy" as a certain CW show). "Roxie was all Heart! Watching her up on that grandiose stage made me the proudest sister in the world."

Pete was downright nervous for his baby-mama's big moment.

"When I get nervous I jitterbug and dance inside my head," he tweeted. "It doesn't matter what you're, saying it just sounds like the Black Eyed Peas to me."
