It's the perfect way to end the world, or at least the weekend, on a lazy So-Cal Sunday.

A source close to Gosling says he's been putting in overtime at the gym, sculpting some mighty muscles.

"He's looking really trim," said the source. "It's funny, because the last time I saw him, he kind of looked like a load."

Maybe the fantasy appeals to his girlfriend as well, since Reese Witherspoon flew to North Africa to spend some quality time with Jake's pec-a-dillies.
