Justin Bieber may be making his millions as a nonthreatening object of teen and preteen affection, but he's not doing it by going the Disney route—aka, extolling the wonders of abstinence.
Nope, instead this red-blooded American Canadian male told Rolling Stone that you should wait all the way until…you don't want to wait anymore. And that's just the tip of the sound bite iceberg that the Biebs (or at least his PR team) might live to regret…
"I don't think you should have sex with anyone unless you love them," he told the magazine, going on to masterfully dodge the question when asked if one should practice abstinence until marriage.
"I think you should just wait for the person you're…in love with."
No word on whether you should also splash out on several bags' worth of goodies from Victoria's Secret for that person, too, as Justin reportedly did on Valentine's Day for current paramour (and Disney's last untainted wholesome princess) Selena Gomez.
(Of whom, incidentally, we can all stop playing coy.)
During the cover interview, the reporter happened to catch a glimpse of the desktop image on Bieber's computer. What was it? Simply him and Selena against an orange sunset. Aww.
Or, you know, kill her. (Either way, Chelsea Handler's gonna be heartbroken.)
Meanwhile, Justin did nothing to avoid weighing in on other polarizing political topics, not hesitating in the slightest when the topic of abortion is brought up.
"I really don't believe in abortion," he said. "It's like killing a baby?"
We can hear Fox News salivating from here. When pressed on the topic, and asked if he felt any differently if the unwanted pregnancy was the result, say, of rape, Bieber pretty much stood his ground.
"Um. Well, I think that's really sad, but everything happens for a reason," the admittedly inexperienced 16-year-old said. "I guess I haven't been in that position, so I wouldn't be able to judge that."
Except for a couple sentences ago when he, you know, judged it.
Meanwhile, the Grammy loser (but Brit winner!) touched on some slightly less lightning rod topics…or, on second thought, maybe not.
"You guys are evil," he said of all Americans when asked if he would ever consider becoming a U.S. citizen.
"Canada's the best country in the world. We go to the doctor and we don't need to worry about paying him, but here, your whole life, you're broke because of medical bills. My bodyguard's baby was premature, and now he has to pay for it. In Canada, if your baby's premature, he stays in the hospital as long as he needs to, and then you go home."
Yep, nothing unites an audience like the topic of universal health care. Though, it's good news for Selena: clearly, he's not just after a green card.
