Fashion Week kicked off in New York today with a stumble—well, a few stumbles and some major falls.

Two fabulous and very flamboyant designers showed their collections back to back tonight, with Christian Siriano at Lincoln Center and Heatherette and Richie Rich at Hammerstein Ballroom.

Mena Suvari was the main draw at the Siriano show, perched front row wearing the designer head-to-toe. She was busy on her BlackBerry for the beginning of the show, but began paying attention when one girl took a fall so hard she may have actually skidded...

Blame it on the sky-high blunt-front stilettos Siriano had his girls marching the catwalk in, because soon after, another model almost took a tumble, but saved herself just in time, and plenty of others were wobbly. One model lost a shoe altogether and walked on her tiptoes for the length of the runway and back.

Suvari told E! News she loved the collection and flew in just for the day to see the show. The newlywed had to get back to her husband, music producer Simone Sestito, whom she married last June in Italy. "Married life is wonderful, being together is the best part," she told us. Suvari also mentioned she's next working on a movie with Amy Smart called Shopping for Boys in which they play two best friends looking for love.

Over at the Richie Rich show, the designer brought out Jersey Shore's JWoww for the finale. Patricia Field was in the audience cheering the reality star on.

Capping off the night at the W Hotels Global Glam event, Paz de la Huerta stood out from the 600-person crowd by dancing up a storm in front of party performer Yelle, singing along with the band in French and drinking Heineken beers straight from bottle.

"Paz was one of the last to leave," said one partygoer.
