Leighton Meester, homeless lady? Amy Poehler's head is growing? Fashion week hasn't even kicked off and already celebs are giving crazy quotes.

Lincoln Center was the place to see and be seen in New York last night, with E! News catching Leighton and Amy along with Seth Meyers, Ashley Tisdale, Blake Lively, Serena Williams and Roger Federer, designers Tommy Hilfiger and Carolina Herrera and fashionista extraordinaire Anna Wintour all gathered to watch Naomi Campbell, Gisele Bündchen and Coco Rocha strut their stuff to "Empire State of Mind" on a circular walkway built around the center's fountain.

Read on to find out what the stars were saying and to get our picks for the Top 5 can't-miss events at this year's Fashion Week.

"Fashion Week was the time of my life last year," Leighton told E! News on her way in. "New York inspires fashion because you wear a crazy outfit and no one will look twice.

"My old roommate used to tell me that I dressed like a homeless person...I can prove it with pictures."

Amy, who will be hosting the season premiere of SNL on Sept. 25, said she's "excited" to be on the first show, but that she's "changed."

"I have a huge head after having the two children."

Seth, meanwhile, said he's trying not to act "too desperate" this week when it comes to the big parties. "I'll just have to ask for invites passive aggressively."

Regular folk forked out up to $400 for a single ticket to see the extravaganza.

And that's just the beginning. Here's what we think will be the biggest events over the next eight days of shows and parties:

1. Christian Siriano. Ever since he won the fourth season of Project Runway, he's become a fashion force to be reckoned with. And with Heidi Klum on his side, his show on Thursday is a must-see. (Of course, we'll also be paying close attention to tomorrow's Project Runway show and pass along any spoilers.)

2. Fashion's Night Out. Taking place Friday, this event is designed to stimulate the city's retail industry, with hundreds of stores ranging from boutiques to department stores remaining open to the public and parties until midnight. Tons of celebs are exptected to turn out for Mark Ronson DJ set at the party at Tiffany & Co. for FNO.

3. Dinner for Ruffian. The it label right now will showcase its wares Thursday. Design duo Brian Wolk and Claude Morais will celebrate their 2011 collection with a champagne and caviar dinner at New York hot spot Michael's. With Kirsten Dunst, Kate Moss and Cate Blanchett among their fans, expect big names to attend.

4. Zac Posen's Z SPoke Fashion Week Party. This Sunday night soiree is bound to get crazy. With music by New York darlings The Misshapes and brand-new club Lavo hosting, Posen's party will be star studded. It starts at 9:30, which means it won't get swinging until midnight. Expect plenty of his celeb followers like Rihanna, Claire Danes, Anna Kendrick, Natalie Portman and lots of naughty behavior.

5. The Chanel Dinner: Taking place Friday at 7 p.m. With the location not to be divulged until the day of the event, expect not too much food and a skinny, moody Karl Lagerfeld, who is personally overseeing the guest list himself. As one in-the-know fashion publicist tells E! News, "Note to everybody on getting in: Good luck."
