And that's all she wrote, folks.
Melissa Etheridge headed to L.A. County Superior Court Friday to formally end her nearly nine-year relationship with The L Word actress Tammy Lynn Michaels. The Petition for Dissolution of Domestic Partnership cites irreconcilable differences as the cause of said split, and also asks that the court offer Michaels, 35, no financial support.
The 49-year-old rocker is seeking joint custody of the couple's two children, daughter Johnnie Rose and son Miller, 3.
Etheridge and Michaels, who exchanged vows in a 2003 Malibu ceremony, split suddenly earlier this year. In an April guest spot on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the "Come Through My Window" singer lamented her relationship's end, saying: "She'll always be in my life, and she's a wonderful woman and an incredible mother. We will have a relationship...the children come first."
