Time to send some good vibes Bono's way.

The U2 frontman is recovering from emergency spinal surgery today after suffering an injury in preparation for the band's upcoming tour.

"He was admitted to a specialist neurosurgery unit in a Munich hospital," reads a statement on U2.com. "Bono will spend the next few days there, before returning home [to Ireland] to recuperate."

The 50-year-old singer, whose real name is Paul Hewson, had been scheduled to join his bandmates in Salt Lake City for rehearsals next Tuesday. The 360-Degree tour was set to launch there on June 3, but that date has been scrapped and the rest of the summer itinerary is in doubt.

"It's unfortunate that we're inconveniencing fans," says band manager Paul McGuinness, "and we will make plans to reinstate these dates as soon as possible."

McGuinness says more information on Bono's condition will be released on the band's site as soon as it becomes available.
