ABC Still Afraid of Adam Lambert, Pretapes View Performance

Did Adam Lambert behave himself today on ABC? Well, he doesn't have much of choice in the matter...

Nervous ABC finally allowed Adam Lambert on TV this morning to chat with The View ladies. Up to this point, the network has canceled three of his live appearances since his AMA performance, but just because they're finally allowing him back on air doesn't mean they're not taking precautions.

Just to be sure Glambert wasn't going to suddenly simulate some oral sex on the morning show, ABC pretaped his appearance. A move The View ladies did not approve of...

During the live "Hot Topics" portion of the show, Whoopi said, "I think ABC's keeping [the AMA scandal] a lot more alive than anybody else, but that's me." Sherri Shepherd agreed, "I think it's a little excessive." And at the beginning of the pretaped interview, everyone kinda laughed about how ridiculous the network suits are being. "Protect your children, people," Adam warned.

The rest of the interview basically rehashed the same stuff Adam's been saying since everyone freaked out. "I'm not a babysitter...It's not American Idol anymore. This is exciting, this is my career...This is part of the double standard I've been talking about...Is it really that big of a deal?"

And then Adam performed his new single, "Whataya Want From Me?"—during which he, of course, behaved himself:

So now that ABC is cool with Adam Lambert, we can all agree to move on, right?
