They're probably going to need a bigger mountain.

The snowy environs of Park City, Utah, will play host next month to the battle of It girls past and present when Natalie Portman and Kristen Stewart show up to support their latest indie projects, both of which will be screened in competition at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.

Stewart, who, like Portman, has done the indie-to-blockbuster thing, made a splash on the fashion circuit and weathered the storm of a questionable haircut, is starring in Welcome to the Rileys with James Gandolfini, whose bereaved father meets Stewart's 19-year-old stripper while on a business trip and promptly sets out to save her.

Hesher, another broken-spirit drama, features Portman, Rainn Wilson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, fresh from his 500 Days of Summer success, as a spirited drifter who enters the lives of a family who have suffered a painful loss.

Gandolfini, meanwhile, might brush elbows on the slopes (or at a swag giveaway) with his longtime TV wife, Edie Falco, who along with Embeth Davidtz headlines the lives-intersecting-in-suburbia drama 3 Backyards.

Also adding star power to the 16 films screening in the U.S. Dramatic Competition are Jon Hamm, Mary-Louise Parker and James Franco (Howl); Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling (Blue Valentine); America Ferrera and Wilmer Valderrama (The Dry Land); and Orlando Bloom, Laura Linney and Mark Ruffalo in Ruffalo's directorial debut, Sympathy for Delicious.

How I Met Your Mother's Josh Radnor also has his directorial debut in competition, the presumably ironically named HappyThankYouMorePlease.

And even if she doesn't bring a certain someone to share in the fun between Jan. 21-31, Kristen Stewart won't be the only Twilighter walking the red carpet: Ashley Greene is in the small-town drama Skateland.

Sundance is like a fashion show with snow, and you can bet that both Kristen Stewart and Natalie Portman will be showcasing a cool sense of style.
