Can Kate Fly High as a Solo Act?

How's Jon & Kate Minus Jon working out for TLC? Why is Kate Hudson's boyfriend spreading his wings? And did Heroes just suck you in again?

The answers—and more questions—in the latest TV ratings quiz:

1. Can Kate Gosselin compete with Jon & Kate? Yes. And she can outdo it, too. Last week's Kate-only episode, "You Ask, Kate Answers," was 50 percent bigger, audience-wise, than the previous week's joint-custody adventure.

2. What is the Centaur Effect? On Friday, Us Weekly reported that Alex Rodriguez owned two paintings of himself as a half-man, half-horse. On Sunday, the World Series, featuring Rodriguez's New York Yankees, galloped off with nearly 23 million viewers, TV's No. 1 show of the week, and the fall classic's most-watched contest in five years.

3. Name at least three shows that drew smaller audiences than the billionth rerun of It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. You could start with all-new episodes of Ghost Whisperer, Tuesday's So You Think You Can Dance and 30 Rock, and keep going.

4. Name at least three shows that drew smaller audiences than the rerun of the billionth rerun of  It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. The canceled Trauma, Community and Heroes were among the many to rate fewer viewers than the week's second helping of the ABC cartoon.

5. Charlie Brown incident aside, why are things looking for up Heroes? After news broke of Adrian Pasdar's impending re-death, last night's episode matched its best ratings since the season premiere, final Nielsen stats showed.

6. Why are things not looking for Ugly Betty? Because it finished 78th in the latest weekly Nielsen rankings and didn't give ABC a single thing to brag about in the network's ratings report.

7. What did ABC brag about this week? Beating Jay Leno at 10 p.m.

8. What did Jay Leno brag about this week? Making $300 million a year for NBC at 10 p.m. Take that, Eastwick.

9. What is wrong with you people? As reported in The New York Times, nearly half of all viewers attractively aged 18-49 don't fast-forward through commercials when they watch shows back on their DVRs.

As an added bonus, here's a select rundown of the week that was:

• Hippest New Comedy, Possibly Because The Cleveland Show Was Preempted: ABC's Modern Family ranked 11th among the demographically desirable.

• Top Show Not Featuring Men in Tight Pants, Er, Better Make That Not Featuring Men in Tight Pants and Spikes: ABC's Dancing With the Stars, which placed fifth overall behind all four World Series games on Fox.

Top Cable Show: The USA newbie White Collar. USA's Monk, Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place and the BET Hip-Hop Awards also rated among the Top 10.

• CW Show Most Likely to Have a Profile Outside of the Local High School: Vampire Diaries, which was the network's only show to rate in the Top 50 among viewers who are old enough to shave.
