Quaids Skip Court, Stay Kooky in Texas

Randy Quaid, Evi Quaid Marfa Police Department

OK, now the Quaids are really in trouble.

The inimitable Randy and Evi Quaid again opted to not appear before a Santa Barbara judge today to face charges stemming from their resort-and-dash case.

Prosecutors confirm to E! News that the third time was indeed the charm, and the couple will probably be arrested.

"The case was taken off calendar and will not be re-calendared unless the Quaids are personally present or they have been arrested and a bond posted," Santa Barbara District Attorney's Office spokesman Lee Carter said.

Extradition proceedings got underway on Monday, when the Quaids were also a no-show.

Too busy shaking up local government to stray from the homefront, apparently...

Evi showed up at a town hall meeting Tuesday in the couple's hometown of Marfa, Texas, and allegedly raised holy hell, yelling at a court clerk and vandalizing the building.

A source with the City Administrator's Office tells E! News that the missus screamed at several people, but was not arrested over the incident. In fact, the source said, Evi has had several outbursts before at the community confabs.

She is already facing a defamation suit from a local deputy whom she accused of taking bribes after he arrested her and Randy on the outstanding warrant from California.

This time around, per Radar Online, Quaid was upset after the city failed to sign off on home-renovation permits.

And we can only imagine what sort of home improvements the quirky couple had in mind.
