It's a good thing that ice picks are on the TSA's banned list.

That was the first thought through our heads after reading a report that claimed Sharon Stone was greeted by police at Salt Lake City Airport after some kind of scuffle with a Delta cabin crew over her refusal to check her carry-on.

But fear not, travelers, while people in uniform did meet the 51-year-old actress at the gates, contrary to the claims in a Stylist.com report, it was not because Stone went Basic Instinct...

"The airport police were requested by her," airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann tells E! News. "She was traveling alone and had requested in advance if we could give her special assistance because she was traveling alone and didn't want to cause disruption or congestion from autograph seekers."

Gann says that she was unaware of any disturbance caused by Stone.

Stone publicist Paul Bloch says his client required "airport services" to assist her upon landing after she visited her "gravely ill" father.

"She spent a couple of days with her father, and coming back, she went through [the airport] with the two pieces that security approved and there was no problems whatsoever," Bloch tells us. "On the plane, the stewardess, however, said she couldn't bring both pieces on and started screaming at her."

Bloch says Stone was unable to combine the bags at the flight attendant's request and then asked her not to scream, saying, "I've had a tough time, my dad's ill."

"She arrived and was met by someone she had retained to meet her in Salt Lake City. [She was greeted] by airport services people she had retained, who took care of her and her luggage so she could eat and relax...She had no problems getting back on the plane."

There was no immediate comment from Delta.

Stone next stars with Val Kilmer, 50 Cent and Michael Biehn in the Hurricane Katrina-set action thriller Streets of Blood, due out this month.
