The next episode of Garry Shandling's show could be heading for a courtroom.

A California man is suing the Emmy-winning yukmeister over a January car accident he says Shandling caused that left the plaintiff with serious injuries.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and first reported by TMZ, claims the 59-year-old Shandling lost control of his Porsche on Pacific Coast Highway and plowed into the other motorist. The complaint seeks $25,000 in damages to cover medical bills, lost wages, loss of earning capacity, property damage and more.

Shandling's agent, Ari Emanuel, was unavailable for comment.

The funnyman has mostly been taking it easy these days. Aside from a voice role in DreamWorks' 2006 'toon blockbuster, Over the Hedge, his last big-screen appearance came in David Duchovny's 2005 comedy Trust the Man.

Next up, Shandling will appear with Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson in Iron Man 2, which starts shooting this week.
