Hilary Duff knows summer is all about putting the heavy foundations, eye shadows and eyeliners into hibernation until fall. The fresh faced look, which FYI, rocked all the runways of fashion season, is about minimalism and letting your skin be the star.

And Duff's radiant skin was certainly the superstar for this outing, complemented by perfectly blushed cheeks, defined brows and glossy pink lips. This new mom didn't even bother applying bronzer, letting her rosy cheeks bring the healthy color to her face.

We love Hilary's casually tousled beach hair too, which looks like she walked onto the red carpet after a stroll on the beach. Forget about sculpted curls or complicated updos, this former Disney star chose to embrace her inner summer goddess.

Get the Look: A fresh face starts with hydrated skin. Since it's summer, you don't want to use a cream that is too heavy or your fresh face look will slide off your face as soon as you step outside.

Try a lightweight hydrating cream like MyChelle Dermaceuticals Pumpkin Renew Cream, which is loaded with antioxidants and peptides to maintain hydration and will instantly absorb into your skin. Next, follow with a primer. A good primer will fill in any pores and fine lines and act as a barrier between your skin and your makeup, which will only make the look last longer.

Once your primer is set, you'll want to skip the usual foundation and instead use a tinted moisturizer that adds just the right amount of light, natural coverage, like Chantecaille Just Skin (which also has SPF 15!).

Hint: If you're having a problem blending a tinted moisturizer or foundation into your skin, try lightly dampening a cosmetic sponge and stippling or pressing the foundation into your skin for a smooth finish.

Once your tinted moisturizer is blended, hide any darkness or puffiness under your eyes with a yellow-based creamy concealer. If you have blemishes, use a concealer brush to apply a dot of a stick or solid concealer that's the same shade as your skin and blend.

Next, apply one coat of non-clumping mascara, like Physician's Formula Organic Wear 100% Natural Origin Mascara. You will want to define your brows by lightly penciling them in and brushing them upwards to blend the pencil and give your eyes an instant lift.

To warm up your cheeks without looking powdery, apply a warm peachy-pink cream or gel-based blush like Tarte Cheek Stain in Blissful on the apples of your cheeks in circular upward motion. You're also going to want to give your fresh face flawless illumination, so apply a subtle highlighter like ILIA Polka Dots and Moonbeams to your cheekbones, brow bones and inner corner of eyes.

Complete this summer look by slicking on your favorite pink lip-gloss. If you need a recommendation, try Philosophy Pink Frosted Animal Cracker Lip Shine, which has the added bonus of a frosted cookie flavor. Yum!

Hilary's effortless look makes us want to abandon all smoky eyes and statement lips for the entire summer! Well, let's not get crazy. Perhaps we promise to tone down the black on our smoky eye and take our red statement lips to fuchsia. Baby steps.
