As the host of E!'s widely poplar show The Soup, Joel McHale satirizes pop culture and current events.

Joel, like everyone, was born in Rome but spent his formative years in Seattle, where he was also a castmember on Comedy Central's sketch show Almost Live! Joel majored in history at the University of Washington, where he also was a tight end on their national championship football team. After earning a Master's degree in Fine Arts from the university, he moved to Los Angeles and was quickly able to find success...as a golf caddy.

Shortly after, Joel landed roles on Will & Grace and CSI: Miami.

Obsessed Joel McHale fans, or bored people, may also recognize him from Spider-Man 2, Pushing Daisies and Lords of Dogtown. He also entertains fans around the country with his stand-up comedy.

Currently, Joel stars opposite Matt Damon in Steven Soderberg's The Informant!, opening October 2009, and is the star of NBC's new comedy Community, airing Thursdays starting in September 2009.

Joel lives with his hot wife and two sons in Southern California.

He likes all animals, especially chicken.
