After an uncertain season finale, thank the TV gods (and CBS bosses) because CSI: New York is back. Back!

Also be sure to grab your Costco-sized box of tissues because the 9/11-set season premiere is sure to bring the waterworks as we flash back to the day Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) lost his wife, and the lives of our favorite New York detectives were changed forever.

Want to see where Flack (Eddie Cahill) and Danny (Carmine Giovinazzo) first met? Take a look at an exclusive sneak peek from the eighth season premiere:

We talked to New York stars Anna Belknap and Giovinazzo about filming the episode. Giovinazzo told us, "I think it'll be a real emotional, really nice commemoration."

Belknap explains how the episode will impact all viewers: "It suddenly seemed very human, that we were filming that we were at a 9/11 memorial service that Mac Taylor is giving a speech in. It's obviously a huge horrific part of our history. To me it's like a universal episode because everyone went through something awful all together."

Nothing will be quite like watching our fearless leader's tragic loss on that day. From the show's first episode, the impact of 9/11 and the loss of Mac Taylor's wife has shaped much of his character. It's only fitting that on the 10th anniversary we revisit their relationship. Oh dear, the tears are coming already.

Tune in tonight at 9 p.m. for the CSI: New York premiere and be sure to head to the comments for a group hug.
