R. Pattz doesn't have this rumor!

Twilight star Robert Pattinson fell pry to a rumor claiming he was in the running for the key role of Finnick Odair Catching Fire, the upcoming sequel to The Hunger Games.

Here's the deal...

Pattinson, in Cannes to take bows for the premiere of his buzz-worthy Cosmopolis, revealed to USA Today: "I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games. I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent. My agent was like, 'No...no one's going to offer you that part.'"

As for Pattinson's response? "I was like, 'Thanks for the reassurance.'"

In Catching Fire, Finnick is a charismatic, trident-wielding tribute who squares off against Katniss Everdeen in a second tournament to the death.

Although there won't be an Edward in Catching Fire, Pattinson's latest stint in Cosmopolis, which hits the U.S. in August, proved successfull even after director David Cronenberg warned the actor the Cannes crowd can be a bit harsh.

"David tells me the night before, 'I'm fully expecting some boos,' I was literally like, 'Why are you telling me this?' I literally didn't watch one second of the movie, I was waiting for people to walk out. I was expecting a fight," said Pattinson.

So how did the actor feel once the screening was over?

After "three hours of continued panic"—he felt full adrenaline. It was just too weird."

At least he had Kristen Stewart there for moral support to help take the edge off.
