Lionel Richie owes some money to Uncle Sam.

The 62-year-old music legend has a $1.1 million debt to the Feds, according to IRS documents obtained by E! News. The hefty sum is leftover from unpaid income taxes in 2010.

In addition, Richie has been slapped with a lien, meaning the federal government has the right to seize his assets if he doesn't pay up in a timely manner.

Fortunately, with new projects in the works it seems the "All Night Long" crooner should be able to scrounge up the cash to put this financial matter behind him.

Richie has a recurring role on The Voice as an adviser this season, and he will also appear alongside Kelly Clarkson and Robin Thicke as a judge on the new singing competition show Duets.
