Walker/Getty Images Last July, Leighton Meester had asked the court to rule that she was not contractually bound to pay her mother for the rest of her life—you know, since Constance Meester "sacrificed her happiness" to help her daughter pursue her dream—and the court had no choice but to agree today, when the judge approved a default judgment in Leighton's favor.
Sorry, mom.
Judge Gregory Alacron ruled there was no valid or enforceable agreement between Leighton to pay her mom Constance any amount of money, siding with Leighton by default after her mother failed to properly respond to the accusations.
Three days after Leighton filed her request in July 2011, Constance filed her own lawsuit against the Gossip Girl star stating she was owed money.
In December, Meester's mother dropped the $3 million lawsuit, however Leighton stood her ground and continued to proceed with her claim because she wanted everything in writing (smart cookie).
Her lawyer, James Spertus, told us in December, "Leighton is still seeking declaratory relief from the court, which we hope to have wrapped up in the very near future."
