Lamar Odom is easing back into things.

In the wake of the Dallas Mavericks forward missing several games recently in order to be with his ill father, Joe, Khloé Kardashian Odom's significant other has been temporarily reassigned to play for his team's D-league affiliate, the Texas Legends.

A source tells ESPN that the move is merely designed to allow Odom to "get his legs back under him" following his extended absence from the court.

Odom will reportedly play in at least one game for the Legends, who have a matchup scheduled against the Austin Toros at home on Saturday night.

The reassignment comes just days after Mavericks owner Mark Cuban lashed out at rumors that Odom was looking to leave the team by seeking a buyout.

"It hasn't been discussed and we wouldn't do it," said Cuban. "We think Lamar has been a huge plus for us...Sometimes guys go through issues and have to deal with them. We always try to support our guys."
