Katy Perry is one multitalented California Gurl.

The singer has already showed off her acting chops as a hilarious mustached prison guard on Raising Hope, but she was also supposed to showcase her skills on the silver screen.

So which major 2011 movie release did this sweet-as-pie pop star have to pull out of due to scheduling conflicts?

The Help!

"There was a time when I was going to be involved in The Help—just a small part," she told Teen Vogue. "I wasn't going to be Emma Stone or anything—but I couldn't because the shooting schedule conflicted with the release of my record."

"And I was upset about that; I knew it was going to be an important film," she added. "Not that I need to do drama first, but I do want to do something that makes a strong impression. You don't really get off the hook being a musician first…I feel like the stakes are really high."

And while she'll be playing herself and not exactly acting, Katy will nevertheless be making her way to the big screen this summer. Katy Perry: Part of Me, a 3-D concert movie/documentary about her life, hits theaters this Fourth of July weekend.
