Scarlett Johansson had a good-looking guy by her side at a fundraiser she hosted, but it wasn't a new love interest.

It was her twin brother, Hunter Johansson, who acted as her bodyguard and assistant while she emceed an event for NYC mayoral candidate Scott Stringer at the Jane Hotel.

Scarlett first took the stage around 8:15 p.m. to make opening remarks, but asked the crowd to refrain from any flash photography...

"I'm using cue cards, so please don't use flash or I won't be able to read!" she quipped, before chatting for about three minutes about why she's supporting Stringer's campaign.

Although her twin brother recently worked for the politician, she said it was her grandmother Dorothy (also in attendance) who first hit the campaign trail with him back in the '80s.

"She met Scott while he was a community activist fighting to protect affordable housing as residents were being threatened at the possibility of being forced out of their homes," she shared last night.

Scarlett's grandma was also apparently on purse-holding duty last night at the party, and after Scarlett's remarks, her brother was dispatched to grab her bag.

The only problem? No one seemed to know where it was.

"She wants her purse," Hunter told one staffer. "I gave it to grandma to hold," she replied before a quick search began. "What does it look like?" the staffer asked him before he helped describe the clutch.

Eventually, ScarJo's bag was found and returned to her via her twin.

After she posed for some photos, security guards tried to clear a path for her exit from the ballroom but her brother handled crowd control, shielding his sister from the people pushing toward the stage and ushering her out of the hotel.

Hunter is no stranger to helping Scarlett out at high-profile political events. He escorted her to the White House Correspondents' Dinner in D.C. last year.
