It's been a tough day for the Carter family.

Aaron Carter, who recently announced he will be temporarily leaving his performing duties in the off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, has decided to speak out regarding his sister Leslie Carter's death.

"Aaron Carter would like to thank all his fans, friends and especially his cast and crew at The Fantasticks for their outpouring of love and support during this tragic time," the statement says.

"I am with my family spending much needed time together as we deal with this private matter," Aaron shares. "I look forward to returning to my Fantasticks' Family and performing the role of ‘Matt'  for all my amazing fans. Again, I request privacy for my family and no further statements will be made at this time. "

An autopsy performed this morning on the 25-year-old, who died suddenly on Tuesday in New York, confirmed that there were "no visible signs of trauma"; the Chautauqua County Coroner's Office is "awaiting a toxicology report to determine a cause of death."
