At least Jennifer Lawrence can laugh at herself!

When The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 star appeared on The Tonight Show Wednesday, she and host Jimmy Fallon commiserated over making headlines for being accident-prone. "Between both of us, we've gotten more press over tripping and falling than anyone in history," Fallon joked. Lawrence laughed and admitted, "I fell in every single city on the press tour. I fell 'round the world!"

"People think it's shtick, but it's not," Fallon noted.

Lawrence said that "at this point, it's so embarrassing" to be known for that.

"Everybody thinks they've witnessed my most embarrassing moments, because I fell on my face getting an Oscar and then I fell the next year on a cone, but there's these two really humiliating stories that are my most embarrassing moments that I've never talked about because it's so genuinely embarrassing," she said. "But now I feel like the statute of limitations on humiliation is up, and I'm ready." The first incident occurred in early 2013, when Lawrence was promoting Silver Linings Playbook in the midst of awards season. The actress was at a Hollywood party when a friendly older friendly woman approached her and said hello. "In my head I just went, 'This is a Elizabeth Taylor'...who was dead at the time. Who' still dead!"

Lawrence was unaware that Taylor died in 2011.

"The whole time she's talking to me, I'm like, 'Oh, my God! This is Elizabeth Taylor!' She's complimenting me! I was like, 'Me? No! You!' Your movies that I can't name and your fashion moments that I don't know! I was like, 'You're unbelievable!'" she said. Soon after, Lawrence realized her mistake. "My friend walked by and grabbed her and I was like, 'This is Elizabeth Taylor!' And she was like, 'No, it's not!'"

Not knowing how to react, Lawrence said she "just took off running."

"There have been two social situations where I just sprint," the Joy actress continued. "And I just sprinted. My shoes fell off and I hid behind this wall."

Lawrence's second story was equally mortifying.

"I really want to plow through these and get them over with," she joked.

Lawrence set up the story by explaining that she was in Paris for the first time. She saw director Francis Ford Coppola at a restaurant, eating a meal with a "giant group of people." After a long period of debate, the Tom Ford-clad actress finally mustered up the courage to get up and introduce herself to the famed filmmaker.

"I started walking and I noticed I was barefoot, but I was like, 'Eh, they probably won't notice,'" Lawrence recalled. "So, I'm barefoot, and I, like, introduced myself, said, 'Oh, I'm such a huge fan! The Godfather! Ah!' And then went on and introduced myself to the whole table, 'Hi, I'm Jennifer Lawrence.' They had no idea who I was. Then, I went back to my table, and my entire dress was unzipped, and my thong was out. So, I was barefoot—and my whole ass was out."

"I think I was making room for my gut and then I unzipped the whole thing and forgot," she said, adding, "I thought the shoes were going to be the problem."
