Believe it or not, The X-Files is coming back to TV. (See what we did there?)

To celebrate the return of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson's beloved Mulder and Scully, Fox has gone all out with the creepy posters, including the one above which invokes the classic poster from Mulder's office (one he rips in half in the premiere episode!).

Duchovny and Anderson are definitely not alone (sorry, can't stop with the puns) in their return to The X-Files. Along for the ride are familiar faces William B. Davis as the Cigarette Smoking Man (yes, he died at the end of the series) and Mitch Pileggi as Walter Skinner. New pals for Mulder and Scully include Joel McHale, Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose as new FBI agents, The Americans' Annet Mahendru, Flight of the Conchords' Rhys Darby and Silicon Valley star Kumail Najiani. Annabeth Gish is also set to return as Agent Reyes, a character who joined the show after Duchovny departed, and the Lone Gunmen (Bruce Harwood, Tom Braidwood and Dean Haglund). Yes, the Lone Gunmen also "died." Hey, it's The X-Files.

When The X-Files returns with its special two-night event on Sunday, Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 25 at 8 p.m., Mulder and Scully are reunited by McHale's character, a conservative pundit who comes to Mulder with a story about alien abduction. Things progress from there. You may be thinking, "wait a minute, Mulder and Scully need to be reunited?" When viewers last saw them together in the second The X-Files movie, they were rowing away on a body of water (in a post-credits scene). Well, now they've broken up. Deal with it. Najiani, an X-Files superfan, said he's all for the breakup.

"I like it because I think it makes sense and it shows the characters have been living their lives and growing while we haven't been watching them. I think it gives them some place to go," he told E! News after The X-Files had its US debut at New York Comic Con. "It's much more interesting that they're in this position and it's a position that makes sense to me. If they're happy and they have kids in the suburban home—there's no drama. I truly think you don't really want to see Mulder and Scully together. You think you do, but I don't think you do. I think you like the tension."

The X-Files returns with six episodes, three written and directed by series creator Chris Carter with Glen Morgan, Darin Morgan and James Wong handling the writing and directing duties on the other three.

The X-Files returns to Fox on Sunday. Jan. 24 at 10 p.m.
