Charlie Sheen is HIV-positive, two sources confirm to E! News.

Amid rumors about his health, Sheen is scheduled to give a live, in-studio interview with Today's Matt Lauer in Studio 1A Tuesday. A press release issued Monday said the 50-year-old actor "will make a revealing personal announcement."

The interview will be available on Today.com after it airs.

Reps for Sheen did not respond to E! News' request for comment.

The troubled actor has five children, ranging in age from 6 to 30, in addition to three ex-wives: Donna Peele (1995-1996), Denise Richards (2002-2006) and Brooke Mueller (2008-2011). E! News has learned that both Richards and her two daughters with Sheen, Sam and Lola, are HIV-negative.

Sheen spent most of 2015 out of the spotlight. Aside from a guest appearance on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs in February, he has not appeared regularly on television since FX's Anger Management ended in December 2014.

The actor, who has dated multiple porn stars over the years, has openly discussed his struggles with drug and alcohol addictions. During a videotaped deposition as part of Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss's tax-evasion trial in 1995, for example, he admitted that he had spent $53,000 for "sexual services" from prostitutes over a 15-month period between 1991 and 1993. The admission came before his three marriages, but his sexual appetite never seemed to wane.

Decades later, in one of his more memorable meltdowns in 2010, Sheen was found intoxicated in a trashed room in New York City's Plaza Hotel, where he allegedly taunted adult film actress Capri Anderson. He was hospitalized, and days later, he and Mueller filed separate divorce petitions.

After a public fallout with Two and a Half Men's Chuck Lorre in 2011, the actor was fired from the CBS series. He rebounded with Anger Management, and in February 2014, he proposed to former porn star Scottine Rossi. The wedding was called off in October, one month before the ceremony was scheduled to occur.

In recent months, Sheen has not been photographed or been on television. He has, however, trashed Richards on Twitter, suffered a bout of severe food poisoning and considered a run for public office.
