Kate Hudson is a big fan of Halloween.

The 36-year-old Academy Award nominated actress stopped by Live! With Kelly and Michael on Friday to promote her forthcoming film Rock the Kasbah in addition to dishing on her annual Halloween party, which is only "for grownups" and has, according to Hudson, "turned into this big wild night that everyone looks forward to" (last year, Katy Perry, Nicole Richie, Chris Martin, Liberty Ross, Lily Allen, Orlando Bloom, Jessica Alba and more were all in attendance).

After the adults' only bash, the stunning star goes back in to mommy mode just in time for Oct. 31. "We always try to make sure it doesn't fall too close to the actual Halloween because we do stuff for the kids," she shared.

So, what's in store this year?

"I was just talking to him [son Bingham, 4] on the phone and he wants to be a vampire because he has these little vampire teeth and he's 4 years old and usually kids are scared of blood, but he's just like 'I want blood all over my face' and I'm like 'Oh my gosh!'" Hudson revealed of her youngest child, whose father is Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy

"But don't you think children of actors are kind of like that because they're used to seeing their mom come home from work?" Kelly Ripa replied.

"Maybe, I just think Bing might be a little goth," the blond beauty confessed. "He loves hard metal music and it's weird because none of us are like that in the house. Like Matt's not like that and I'm not like that."

"Does he like Matt's music?" Ripa asked.

"Oh god, obsessed," Hudson said. "Obsessed, of course"

As for 11-year-old Ryder, whose father is the actress' ex-husband Chris Robinson

"Ryder is like a lady's man and a bit of a fashion forward-type-hipster and really anti-everything, too," she shared. "So right now, all his friends have cell phones and I'm not letting him have one and he's like, 'It's cool. I don't have a cell phone.'…He likes to be anti-establishment, which is also like his father."

Too cute. Like father, like son!
