Back to the Future's Doc and Marty Just Met the Real 2015 on Jimmy Kimmel Live and They Were Not Impressed

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reprised their roles as Marty and Doc Brown from Back to the Future

Back to the Future Day just ended with quite the bang.

Apparently, when Marty (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) traveled to October 21, 2015, one of their first stops was actually Jimmy Kimmel Live, and what transpired was actually everything that any hardcore Back to the Future fan really needed.

Upon their arrival, Doc and Marty learned from Jimmy exactly what 2015 is actually like, and they actually seemed pretty disappointed with the lack of hoverboards, flying cars, and peace in the middle east, and Johnny Carson. They did perk up a bit when they learned about smartphones, but that was not enough to constitute the 2015 they had dreamed of.

Eventually, they determined that they had accidentally traveled into an alternate future in which human evolution had been stopped by "superfluous" technology, and Biff/Donald Trump reigns supreme, and thus Doc Brown had some work to do if he wanted to get back to the correct future.

The reunion also featured Huey Lewis, who piped up from the audience to tell Doc and Marty that they were being a little too loud.

In case you've been living under a rock today, Fox and Lloyd reprised their characters to celebrate the official day that Doc and Marty traveled to in Back to the Future II in order to save Marty's kids (or something) and ride around on the hoverboards we don't yet have.

Between this and the fact that Nike is actually making those sneakers with power laces, today has truly been the most magical day and we're actually real mad that it's now over, and that for the rest of time, all of Back to the Future will only take place in the past...until they make a new one.

Back to the Future Part II was one of the best sequels ever, but we can't say the same for these terrible film follow-ups:
