Watch: Zachary Quinto Dishes on Third "Star Trek" Movie

Like many of us, Zachary Quinto also can't wait for Star Trek Beyond to hit theaters.

The actor, who reprises his role as Spock for the third installment of the popular franchise, has recently wrapped shooting the reboot and tells E! News that it is a project he is extremely grateful for and looking forward to seeing on the big screen.

"Just finished the third Star Trek movie, about to start another movie here, and then I'm doing another play in the new year," Quinto says of his continuously busy schedule. "It was an incredible experience and I'm really grateful to have gone through it and be on the other side of it. I'm really looking forward to next summer when it comes out."

The film, which is slated for a July 2016 release, co-stars Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Idris Elba, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin and John Cho.

Back in 2012, Quinto was at the center of controversy after fans thought he was announcing his departure from the Star Trek franchise. The brouhaha over Quinto boldly exiting as Spock got started after he spoke about his then-arc on American Horror Story as a forward-thinking psychotherapist who butts heads with Jessica Lange's character to Entertainment Weekly.

At the end of the sit-down, Quinto stated he's ready to "go in a different direction" with his career once his AHS stint is over and J.J. Abrams' eagerly awaited sequel to his 2009 Star Trek reboot is out. "It's like an era of association with certain roles—a specific part like Spock, or a kind of part, like Sylar [his character in Heroes]—is coming to an end," Quinto said.

However, the rumors were quickly trumped when the star took to Twitter to clarify his remarks. "Simmer down kids. rumors are rumors for a reason. quotes out of context. let's let the second movie come out before we talk about a third...," the 38-year-old thesp tweeted.

And here we are.
