It's here!

Sam Smith released the theme song to Spectre, titled "Writing's on the Wall," Friday, and he is pretty excited about it. The British crooner shared a link on Twitter and followed up shortly after by declaring it a dream come true. "I have been dreaming of this moment for a long long time," he wrote.

He also talked to Today show co-host Natalie Morales when his song was first announced earlier in September and told her that as soon as he was tapped to record the follow-up to Adele's hit he figured out a plan. "I just wanted to write a love song—something classic," he explained. "Timeless."

The song itself sounds very Smith-like, full of falsetto and high notes. Its haunting melody is also reminiscent of Lana Del Rey's music, which has some fans wondering why she didn't perform it. But as Smith said, he wanted to write a love song, and a love song is what he delivered.

"I've been here before / But always hit the floor / I've spent a lifetime running / And I always get away/ But with you I'm feeling something that makes me want to stay," he sings in the song's first verse.

Now that it has finally hit the airwaves, do James Bond fans like the franchise's 24th theme? So far, the reviews seem to be mixed.

Smith previously revealed that it only took him 20 minutes to write because the creative juices just kept flowing, but most seem to agree that he probably should have taken a little more time to think this song through. Somewhere, Adele is probably pretty pleased with herself.

Spectre, directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, is in theaters Nov. 6.
