From major blockbusters to reality TV series, getting (and regretting) tattoos has long been a focal point of pop culture.

And now that tattoos have mostly shed their negative stigma of yesteryear, it seems everyone is going under the needle for a chance to commemorate a memorable time in their life. For those with commitment issues, temporary flash tats have also become a major accessory, with stars like Beyoncé and Vanessa Hudgens diving headfirst into the metallic trend.

So even though you might want to forget that butterfly tramp stamp you got on your 18th birthday, these unforgettable tattoo moments have earned a permanent spot in film and television.

Dude Where's My Car?: After a wild night out, Ashton Kutcher and Seann William Scott can't remember where they parked their car. Chaos ensues, and along the way the dynamic duo discovers they each got a special friendship token on their back. What's more painful than actually getting tatted? Watching these two stoners try to explain to each other what their tattoos say.

Columbia

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo: This 2011 film adaptation of the popular book series centers on Rooney Mara's character, a computer hacker with a dark past tasked with investigating the disappearance of a woman from a wealthy family. Mara's badass attitude is only amplified by her numerous tattoos, which include (of course) a sprawling dragon on her back.

The Hangover Part II: What would the Wolf Pack be without at least one terrible tattoo? In the second installment of the raunchy comedy, Ed Helms wakes up in a Bangkok bathtub with a facial tattoo identical to Mike Tyson's infamous body art. To make things even more interesting, the original tattoo artist who emblazoned the former boxer in 2003 sued Warner Bros. for copyright infringement of his design. The case was settled outside of court.

TLC

LA Ink: For four seasons, Kat Von D and her edgy team made tats cooler than ever on TLC's popular series. Tattoo aficionados traveled far and wide for a chance to get inked by the famed artist in her West Hollywood studio, but the show did not go off without a healthy dose of drama! Kat's staff was often pitted against each other, but hey, that's what reality TV is all about.

NBC

Blindspot: With NBC's latest drama premiering tonight at 10 p.m., there's no doubt Jaimie Alexander's heavily tatted bod will go down in history. In the series, her character is found in a duffle bag naked, with amnesia, in NYC's Times Square. Alexander's mysterious tattoos draw the attention of the FBI, whose agents begin working to reveal her true identity.

Blindspot premieres Monday, Sept. 21 at 10 p.m. on NBC.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
