Gunther is alive and well, everyone!

He might not be pouring coffee at Central Perk anymore, but Gunther (real name James Michael Tyler) still knows what's up with Friends. Tyler opened up Comedy Central's FriendsFest Tuesday and when asked if he could sing the famous theme song, "I'll Be There for You" by The Rembrandts, he one-upped himself by performing a dramatic reading.

You'll never look at Gunther or the song the same way again. Somehow the upbeat, heartwarming lyrics transform into a depressing, rendition that will bring you back to your angsty high school days. Who knew the famous barista had such a hidden talent?!

Unfortunately, we won't be seeing Tyler apron-up and pouring coffee anytime soon. He told Heat that there wouldn't ever be a Friends reunion much to our chagrin. "Why revisit something they tidied so nicely?" he asked. "It was about people in their 20s trying to find themselves, so to see people in their 40s wouldn't be the same."

We get that, but it would be nice to see if Joey ever moved into that bedroom Monica and Chandler made sure to include in their house! Co-creator Marta Kaufman told E! News definitively in April that we'll never see what happens with our favorite people.

Fans of the show, Kaufman said, "have to let it go. It'll never happen—not happening!"

Welp, if the co-creator says never, then we have to say never. Hear that? It's the sound of our dreams dying.

At least we'll always have Gunther.
