Talk about a workplace hazard.

Eddie Redmayne admits that not long after he and his wife Hannah Bagshawe married in December, he lost his wedding band while shooting The Danish Girl.

"When you're filming you have to take off these things and I actually lost my wedding ring so this a new wedding ring that is being worn," the Oscar winner said while promoting The Danish Girl at the Toronto International Film Festival. "I was pinning it to my costume every day and one day it disappeared."

Letting Bagshawe know what happened wasn't easy. "I sort of skirted around it, but anyway I like the new one," he said.

And then he beamed, "I'm loving the first year of marriage. I'm a lucky man."

The two married on Dec. 15 at Babington House in Somerset, England. "They celebrated with a small number of close family and friends," his rep told E! News in a statement. The wedding came less than a year after their engagement was first announced in The Times newspaper.

Redmayne is currently shooting the Harry Potter prequel, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

The Danish Girl is in theaters Nov. 27.
