It's been nearly five years since Jessica Simpson released her last studio album Happy Christmas, but it seems that the blond bombshell may now be ready for a comeback.
The 35-year-old fashion designer stopped by the Today show on Wednesday, where Savannah Guthrie asked the mother of two about the recording studio she's currently building in her home.
"That project is almost wrapped up. I maybe have, like, 3 more weeks until it's done and I'm down in my basement recording. I'm sure my kids will completely take over," the blond stunner revealed.
Guthrie then noted that Simpson's kids, daughter Maxwell, 3, and son Ace, 2, have "never really seen this side of mom" and Simpson agreed, admitting she's ready to get back on stage.
"Even Eric [Johnson], my husband, I recorded a Christmas album with him but he's never really seen me on stage and do my thing that actually got me here now."
"Is that something you hope to do again?" Guthrie asked, "Release an album and go on tour and play the crowds?"
"Yeah, absolutely," Simpson replied. "That's how I started and that's always one of my biggest passions in the world. I love to use my voice."
While Simpson may be ready to return to her musical roots, there is a part of her past career that Simpson has since sworn off.
Namely, reality television (Simpson and former husband Nick Lachey previously starred on the MTV reality show Newlyweds from 2003 to 2005).
"That's very rear view," the singer said with a laugh. "I mean I'm very open with fans and the media but having a camera on me at all times. I mean, we all know I stick my foot in my mouth a little bit too much so now that I'm a mom, I probably have to keep it together a little bit better."
