The Oscar winner and the Coldplay frontman dated for four months, split and then were speculated to have reunited once again after they were spotted at the Benefit for the People of Nepal in May. The two have never commented about their relationship nor have they spoken publicly about it.
Before their run in at the Los Angeles benefit, Lawrence and Martin reconnected over Easter weekend, weeks before Gwyneth Paltrow filed for divorce from the singer. They were also spotted earlier in the year enjoying "a romantic Italian dinner" at Madeo in West Hollywood, Calif.
"The two were very sweet with each other," a source told E! News at the time. "They kept under the radar at their cozy, candle-lit table."
Even Paltrow gave Lawrence the stamp of approval, telling Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show that her ex-husband "wouldn't be with someone who isn't great."
The couple's split comes only a couple of days after the "Fix You" crooner was spotted with actress Annabelle Wallis in New York City. But sources told People that Lawrence and Martin could reconnect again in the future.
"Chris doesn't really want the relationship to end, but he needs to be flexible so he can see his family as much as possible with his own work schedule," a Martin source explained. "He's crazy about Jen but wants to keep his own schedule and be able to do what he wants when he wants to do it."
A friend of Lawrence, however, said that the Hunger Games star was looking for something more serious from her now ex-boyfriend. "She was tired of him being so noncommittal," the source added.
Maybe these two will become another Hollywood example of friendly celebrity exes, unlike the breakups in this video.
