Who's ready for some more Mockingbird (Adrianne Palicki)?

After months of back and forth, Variety reports that ABC is still interested in an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff starring the Friday Night Lights alum and her onscreen romantic interest Lance Hunter (Nick Blood). But instead of billing the new project as a S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff, the network is calling it an entirely new pilot, centered around Bobbi Morse (Palicki) and Hunter. And the name for the potential show is already epic: Marvel's Most Wanted!

While the site reports that ABC is close to a deal to order the new show, reps for the network and for Marvel could not confirm the news.

If ABC does order the new show to series, S.H.I.E.L.D. showrunners Jeff Bell and Paul Zbyszewski will head up the project for Marvel and ABC Studios along with Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb.

When E! News talked with ABC boss Paul Lee at the network upfronts back in May after the spinoff was passed on the first time, he told us he was still interested in seeing it come to fruition.

"We absolutely love those characters on S.H.I.E.L.D. We think S.H.I.E.L.D. really hit it's creative stride this year and we love it," Lee said, confirming Palicki and Blood would be back on S.H.I.E.L.D. for its third season. "Certainly, there's a possibility of spinning them off. We felt it was right time now to leave them on S.H.I.E.L.D."

Plot details for Marvel's Most Wanted are scarce at this point, but it will allegedly follow Mockingbird and Hunter on their adventures. Whether or not that includes S.H.I.E.L.D. remains to be seen, as Bobbi ended season two severely injured from a fight with former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Ward (Brett Dalton) and questioning her place in the organization. Hunter is in love with her, and will likely follow her in whatever choice she makes.

In the meantime, both Bobbi and Hunter will return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. when season three premieres Tuesday, September 29 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
