This is going to be quite the kid.

Jeff Goldblum and wife Emilie Livingston have welcomed their first child together, a baby boy they've named Charlie Ocean Goldblum.

"We're so excited to share the wonderful news of the birth of our son, Charlie Ocean Goldblum, born on the 4th of July. Independence Day," the star of the—what do you know?!—upcoming Independence Day: Resurgence posted on Facebook Tuesday.

Little Charlie arrived right on time, with Goldblum confirming on the Late Late Show With James Corden back in April that their baby was due on the holiday.

Meanwhile, he announced on the Late Show With David Letterman back in January that Emilie had revealed to him on their wedding day that she was pregnant—and then he and his rhythmic-gymnast wife both proceeded to contort and tumble for Dave's amusement. (Goldblum also said that he liked the name Elliot Charlie and Letterman said "you can't go wrong with Charlie," so...this one's for you, Dave!)

The proud parents tied the knot in November in Los Angeles after a few years of dating.

This is Goldblum's third marriage but the 62-year-old star of many a blockbuster (including the original Independence Day) is a first-time dad.

Asked in 2012 if he wanted to be a father, Goldblum said on Larry King Now, "I'm thinking about it!"

King, who rhapsodized about becoming a dad later in life, said that "nothing beats fatherhood" and told the actor that he would be a great father.

"You think so?" Goldblum smiled. Asked if Emilie (who at the time was about to turn 30) wanted children, he nodded and said, "Yes, I think she does."

Wishes do come true! A heartfelt congratulations to the new family of three!
