NBCAndy Cohen didn't plead the Fifth when it came to questions about NeNe Leakes' Real Housewives of Atlanta departure, but he did seemingly take two different stances on her exit.
When an Instagram commenter asked the Real Housewives executive producer if he was "just going to let @neneleakes leave the show like that," Andy's response was quite cool. As you can see from this screen grab, he writes bluntly, "it's a free country. She wasn't into it any more! Couldn't you tell?"
Wait, what? The Watch What Happens Live host was decidedly pro-NeNe when he first addressed the RHOA casting shakeup on Twitter. "We love @NeNeLeakes & she is always welcome back to the house she helped build!" he wrote. "She is a Real Housewife forever!!"
He reassured one fan that each of the Real Housewives franchises were not "dying a slow painful death," writing, "they are evolving... NYC and OC and BH all getting better and better :-)"
"The show is about reinvention and new people come in," he told another tweeter. "it'll be good. it's like life, evolution..."

As for NeNe? She re-posted Andy's sweet tweet about her being "always welcome back," and based on her Instagram post, too, it seems she has fond feelings for the show. "This is so hard for me to type! I cry as I do so! I am so Grateful for all the love and laughs!" she wrote Monday. "Thank you so much to everyone that has watched and supported me over the years on this amazing platform! With lots of thoughts and prayer I've decided to step out on faith and not fear. #nomoRHOA4me."
She will be missed.
