The stars aligned for fans of Gilmore Girls in Austin.

Most of Stars Hollow's beloved band of townies, including Lauren Graham (Lorelai!), Alexis Bledel (Rory!) and Scott Patterson (Luke Danes!), among many others, as well as creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, reunited on stage at the ATX TV Festival on Saturday, dishing scoop on the beloved WB series, which ended in 2007.

But the biggest topic of conversation? Whether or not a reunion movie or limited series revival was in the works!

Of course, Patterson recently caused quite the stir on social media when he revealed that there were talks of an on-screen reunion, saying on a podcast, "There is some activity."

But Sherman-Palladino dashed our dream of a upcoming movie during the panel by saying, "I'm sorry, there's nothing in the works at the moment." Oy!

Still, that doesn't mean there isn't hope! "Nobody here hates each other," she said. "That's very important...if it ever happened, I promise you we'd do it correctly."

And when we chatted with Patterson before the panel on the red carpet, he stood by his statements, telling us, "My personal feelings though are that fans really deserve it. They have given us so much love and affection...let's give them a love better back."

Since there's no real movement on the revival front, Sherman-Palladino couldn't really comment on what format Gilmore Girls could potentially return in: a movie or limited series event a la 24.

"It would have to be the right everything — the right format, the right timing, the right way," Sherman-Palladino explained. "It would have to be honored in a certain way and I think that if you look around, we would all jump in and do it."

Yes, that means Lauren Graham is down to play the quippy, witty, messy and perfect Lorelai once again!

When we asked her on the red carpet if she could see a reunion eventually happening, Graham told us, "I have no idea, that would be up to Amy and other people. I think because Amy didn't get to finish the show there is an unusual willingness to see what that would look like, so we'll see!"

For now, fans can solace in knowing that Graham truly feels Luke and Lorelai got their happily ever after, even if they didn't get back together by the series' end.  "It didn't, for me, end in a satisfying way," Graham said during the panel of Luke and Lorelai in the series finale. "It didn't really end. It didn't resolve satisfactorily. I think they're together, 100 percent." Later, when asked by a fan if the couple ended up getting married, she answered, "I think they probably did."
